One of the first main principles when operating a BOOM is having the EYES TO SEE your
surroundings. Knowing your surroundings and doing a visual walk-around prior to each work
day is a a safe and effective way to eliminate any hazard opportunities. In May of this year, a
delivery driver of a rental company in California was fatally killed when loading a boom lift onto
his truck when he was crushed between a concrete structure and the lift. This incident, along
with countless others, stresses the importance of having VISION from the PLATFORM.
